Mr. J.W. Fields, age 82 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on November 8, 2022. He was born on August 8, 1940 in Dahlonega, Georgia to the late Hoyle Fields and the late Ollie Garrett Fields. J.W. was born and raised in Dahlonega. J.W. was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served as an aviation boatswain's mate. He lived in Gainesville for over 30 years while working and raising his family. In 2000 he moved back to his hometown where he would spend the remainder of his life. J.W. was an active and involved member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was a great family man and was known by his family as "J bo". He was a man of many talents and enjoyed tinkering on things- especially his tractor. He could often be found spending time with friends and family, golfing, or trying to slip away to the casino. Everyone who ever met J.W. loved him and he simply never met a stranger. He will be missed by many.
