Mrs. Kathern Wallis Swofford, age 86, of Cleveland, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Mrs. Swofford was born in Forsyth County on October 16, 1939, to the late Lonnie Bell Wallis and Lillie Estell Mayfield Wallis.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Swofford, brother Reuben Wallis and sister Shirley Patterson.

In the town of Shakerag, GA (Johns Creek), Mrs. Swofford started to work at her father's business L.B. Wallis Store.  There she developed her work ethic that helped her raise her beloved children.  Mrs. Swofford was a loving mother and beloved "Granny".  She never said an un-kind word about anyone.  Always seeing the best in everyone, Mrs. Swofford kept her heart, and doors open to anyone in need.  If you came to visit her, you would soon find yourself at a table of food with her famous fried-okra and a mouthwatering black-walnut cake.

Survivors include her children, Rev. Allen (Linda) Swafford and Tony (Anna) Swofford of Cleveland, Robin (Chuck) Hamrick of Jefferson, Jeff Swafford of Cleveland, and Penny (Phillip) Neal of Hoschton. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Jess (Amanda) Swafford, Russell (Misty) Swafford, Virginia (Michael) Plemmons, Sarah Emans, Chad (Lisa) Hamrick, Kyle (Jennifer) Hamrick, Christopher (Heaven) Hamrick, Hannah Swafford, Jason (Britnay) Herndon, Dillion (Chelsea) Neal, and Carly Neal, along with nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Nimblewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Orr and the Rev. Ronnie Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Dawson Ricketts will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
