Obituary

Mrs. Kathryn Eugenia "Jean" Richardson, age 86, of Burlington, NC passed away suddenly on July 10, 2022
in the company of her family following a family wedding celebration in Dahlonega, GA.
Born February 24, 1936 to parents David Porter and Kathryn Collier Griffith, Jean was a retired educator
and social worker. She was a classy lady who loved life and lived it to the fullest, just the way she wanted to.
She truly loved her family and enjoyed gardening and water aerobics. She was of the Methodist faith and had
been a Methodist Missionary and worked at the Methodist Children's Home.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Edward Richardson,
her sister, Patricia Dickey and a niece, Sheila Kramer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law;
Aleshia and Kris Rucker, grandchildren; Samantha and Kristopher Rucker, all of Oak Ridge, NC, sister-in
law, Donna Kramer, nieces; Denise Brown, Lisa Shammo and Karen Shaffer, nephews; David Dickey,
Dean Dickey and Kevin Kramer.
Mrs. Richardson's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held July 22, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.
at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, 2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310-9723. Reception
to follow.
