Mrs. Kristina Ann Cates, age 47 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021.  She was born on June 5, 1974 to the late Larry Lane Cates and Wetaunah Ann Coker Cates.

Kristina was known as "Kristy" or "Kris" to her friends and family.  She was known for her free spirit, gypsy way of life, and her love for family and friends.  She never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off her back, even when she had nothing.  Kristina enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, singing, enjoying a coffee, sunbathing, and traveling.  She was loved dearly and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Devan "Shelton" Morris (Breann) of Gainesville and Landon Cates of Dawsonville; daughters Hanna Frederick of Spartanburg, SC, Krissa Frederick of North Carolina, and Watonna Patrick of Dahlonega; sister Sherry Cates (Lamar) of Dawsonville; brother Timothy Cates (Michelle) of Dawsonville; and numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Harvest Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Inurnment will follow in the cemetery of Antioch Baptist Church, next to her parents.
