Lana Beck Pruitt, 68, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026. She was born on October 11, 1958, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to the late F.M. Beck and Jean Edwards Beck.

Lana was a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She had a big heart and was always willing to help others. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many throughout her years. She loved spending time with her friends and family, but perhaps nothing brought her greater joy than being a grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and took great pride in watching her family grow.

Lana dedicated 39 years of her life to serving the people of Lumpkin County through her work at the Lumpkin County Tax Office. Her years of service reflected the same genuine desire to help others that she carried into every part of her life.

In addition to her father, F.M. Beck, Lana was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Cathy Beck, and her brother-in-law, Clifton Mincey.

She is survived by her mother, Jean Beck of Dahlonega; her siblings, Lamar Beck, Larry Beck (Pat Tooley), and Lynn Mincey; her significant other, David Dowdle; and her children, Jim and Hannah Pruitt, Heather and Mark Patterson, and Nathan and Ashley Dowdle.

Lana also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Katie Patterson, Jacob Patterson, Hunter Dowdle, Ethan Dowdle, and Ashtyn Dowdle; four great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives who will miss her dearly.

Lana will be remembered for her generous heart, her willingness to help others, her love for her family, and the special joy she found in being a grandmother. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and, most importantly, through the family she loved so dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Reverends Lyman Caldwell, Danny Baker, and Curtis Roland will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethlehem-Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.
