Larry "Papa" Anderson, age 78, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024. He was born on August 16, 1946, to the late Grover Anderson and Birdie Eaton Anderson in Dahlonega, where he spent a lifetime as a beloved member of the community.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his children, Lisa Adams and Larry James Anderson Jr.; grandson, Devin Hutcheson; and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Martha "Nanny" Anderson; daughters Lorie DeMark, Lenette (David) Hutcheson, and Kathy Day; siblings Jerry (Darlene) Anderson and Bessie Peters; grandchildren Corkey Reece, James Reece, Charles Adams, Amanda Hernandez, Michael "Bolt" Roper, Meagan Hutcheson, Madysin Hutcheson, Morgan Hutcheson, Tucker Anderson, Tyler Anderson, and Larry James Anderson III; and countless extended family members and friends.

Larry was a steadfast and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Known to all as "Papa," he was a man of unwavering strength, wisdom, and kindness. He held his family together, providing love and guidance that will be remembered forever. Larry's humor, compassion, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services to honor Larry's remarkable life will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home during the following times: Friday, December 27, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM; and Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the service begins at 3:00 PM.
