Miss Lorraine Edge, age 82, of Dahlonega, GA died Thursday, January 1, 2015. Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She retired from Folger's Hatchery where she worked as a lab tech. She loved her family and they loved her. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Homer Edge and Bessie Grindle Edge, and was also preceded in death by her sister, Grace Edge. She is survived by brother and sister-in-law, James and Hazel Edge; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Marion Burnett; nieces and nephews, Renee and Ricky Smith, Jason and Heather Burnett, Jennifer Burnett, and Kimberly and Craig Cantrell, all of Dahlonega, GA. Funeral services for Lorraine are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Philippi Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Casey Robinson and Rev. Jason Fuller will officiate. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 6 PM until 9 PM Friday, January 2, 2015, and from 9 AM until service time on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
