Luther "Luke" Carder, age 89, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on March 5, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1936, in Dahlonega to the late Jim Carder and the late Viola "Ola" Collins Carder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Davis Carder; his son, Marty Ray Thomas; and his daughter, Debbie Carder Roper.

Luke is survived by his children, Cindy Thomas, Johnny (Donna) Thomas, and Dianne Carder; grandchildren Brandon (Melissa) Skaggs, Jessica (Jason) Humphries, Marty Thomas Jr., Heidi Reed, Dylan Reed, Danielle (Derrick) Case, Morgan (Wes) Dale, and Madison (Daniel) Wellborn; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

First and foremost, Luke was a man of God who loved his Lord. He faithfully served as a deacon at Mt. Zion #1 in Dahlonega. He was also a devoted family man who deeply loved his family and was very proud of them.

Luke was well known as a "car man." He loved buying, selling, and trading automobiles. After finishing school, he worked on his father's farm for many years before becoming the milkman of Dahlonega. Later, his passion for cars led him to become a successful local business owner, operating Luke & Gene's Used Cars in Dahlonega for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Ricky Woody will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville.

The family will receive friends at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
