Mae "Evelyn" Walley (McCrary), age 88, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. Born on October 12, 1937, Evelyn was known for her loving heart, strong spirit, and devotion to her family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Larry (Paula) Modisette of Murrayville and Heath (Pam) Modisette of Gainesville; grandchildren Jeremy, Derek, Alan, Matthew, and Alicia; and nine great grandchildren; siblings Ruth Young Patton, Dale McCrary, Danny McCrary, and Lisa Cross; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Weldon Modisette; her parents, Walter Wallis McCrary and Anna Evelyn Stephens; her second husband, William "Bill" Walley; and her siblings Willis McCrary, Gerald McCrary, John Clayton McCrary, Joyce Ann McCrary, and Cheryl McCrary.

Evelyn will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her and the lasting impact she made on her family throughout her life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Gospel Assembly, 3804 Mt. Vernon Rd. Gainesville, GA 30506
