Mrs. Margene Grizzle, age 85, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Margene was born in Lumpkin County on February 15, 1933 to the late Paul and Loudell Moose Boatfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Marie Wood Miles; grandson Scotty Beck; sister Fannie Dye; and brothers Louie Boatfield and David Boatfield. Margene was of the Holiness Faith. She owned and operated Gold City Restaurant and retired from Gold City Convalescent Center.

Survivors include her daughter Lynn Hope of Dahlonega; brother and sister in law Jerry and Shirley Boatfield of Dahlonega; grandchildren Tony and Maria Porter of Jenkinsburg; and special friend Carson Wood of Dahlonega.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Rev. Freddie Bryan will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
