Martha Faye "Chee" Perry

Martha Faye "Chee" Perry, age 77, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Born on August 24, 1948, in Dahlonega, Georgia, Chee was the daughter of the late Spencer Odom and the late Edna Moss.

Chee lived life with an adventurous spirit and a heart that longed to experience the world. A passionate traveler, she embraced every opportunity to explore new places, cultures, and people. She was especially proud of her Native American heritage, with roots tracing back to the Cherokee people, and carried that pride throughout her life.

A gifted artist, Chee expressed herself through creativity and found beauty in the world around her. She was a devoted lover of music, with a special appreciation for the songs of Kris Kristofferson. Above all else, she was a fiercely protective, loving, and strong mother whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. She was a truth seeker who valued honesty, authenticity, and living life on her own terms.

She is survived by her loving partner of 27 years, Ray Johnstone; her children, Douglas Daniel Perry and his wife, Amanda, and Tonya Perry; her siblings, A.W. Odom, Mae Cain, Benny Odom, Mary Ann Cain, and Rhonda Bennett; her grandchildren, Erika Newby and her husband, James, Dylan Perry and his wife, Diana, and Jackson Howard; her cherished great-grandchild, Tatum Perry; her beloved dog, Toby; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to her niece, Christie Odom, for the exceptional love, compassion, and care she so faithfully provided, and also a special thanks to her sister ,Mae Cain, who especially helped in taking care of her during the most difficult times.

In keeping with Chee's wishes, she was cremated. No public services will be held at this time.
