Marty Joe Howard, age 56, of Dawsonville, GA (Lumpkin County), died Friday February 20, 2015 at his residence following a sudden illness. Marty was born in Gainesville, GA January 1, 1959. He had lived in Lumpkin County for many years. Marty was a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Howard; brother, Rodney Howard; father-in-law, Jewell Crane; and brother-in-law, Harry Cronan. Marty is survived by his wife, Trish Crane Howard; son, Colby Howard; granddaughter, Bethany Howard; mother, Diane Howard; siblings, Ramona, Cindy, Angela, and Arty; mother-in-law, Letnette Crane; and sister-in-law, Brenda Cronan. Numerous other relatives also survive. A memorial service for Marty is scheduled for 2 PM Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA. Rev. Charles Grant will officiate. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Monday.
