Obituary

Mrs. Mary Lou Ward Jarrard, age 82, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Chestatee Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Mary Lou was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, and a member of Yahoola Baptist Church. When she was younger, she was co-owner of the Dairy Queen in Dahlonega. She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Estelle Tolbert Ward, and is also preceded in death by her husband, Rupert "Glad" Jarrard; and sister, Billie Mabry. Mary Lou is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerrell and Patricia Ingram; son, Michael Mabry, all of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Greg and Buffi Evans, Tammy Wilson, Chris Ingram, and Ashley Do; great grandchildren, Jayson Stevens, Alyson Evans, Camryn Williams, Hunter Turner, and Joseph Wilson; and great great grandchild, Lainey Stevens. A number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Jarrard are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA. Rev. Scott and Dawn McQueen will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega from 5 PM until 9 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2014; 12 Noon until 9 PM Sunday, July 27, 2014; and Monday, July 28, 2014 until time of service.
