Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ann Smoot, age 72, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 after a rapid decline in health.
She was born on November 26, 1949 in Macon, Georgia to the late Billy Lavender and the late Betty Lavender. Mary was a passionate gardener and loved arts and crafts after her retirement but her greatest joy was being around her grandchildren. Mary's life was all about caring for others in many different ways. It may have been a short phone call or a written letter, a trip to the grocery store with the elderly or just an open ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on to.
Testament of her truly caring soul are the many friendships she upheld for well over 40, 50 years. Mary is preceded in death by many whom she so dearly loved and missed.
She is survived by a big family who will honor her memory and the always giving life she lived.
According to her wishes, there will be no formal services but we want to ask you to hold her lovingly in your heart.
