Mrs. Mattie Blondene Bryan, age 78 of Dahlonega passed away Monday, February 19, 2018.

Mrs. Bryan was born in Suches on June 25, 1939 to the late Homer and Mabell Wilkins Gooch. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Bryan and by her brothers Glenn Gooch, Bill Gooch, Tom Gooch and Ervin Gooch.

Mrs. Bryan was a graduate of Woody Gap High School and was a member of Community Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.

A homemaker for most of her life Mrs. Bryan loved her family to the fullest and was affectionately called "Granny" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  At the end of the school bus ride home "Granny" was there to get her grandchildren off the bus and she was also able to be there for her great grandchildren. Nothing was more enjoyable for the grand kids than a stop at the Dahlonega Nugget office to pick up a paper and get a piece of candy.

Survivors include her son and fiancé Scott Bryan and Lisa Bunker, Dahlonega; grandchildren Karen and Andrew Antonia and Drew Bryan; great grandchildren Addilaide Antonia and Anniston Antonia, all of Dahlonega; sisters Kathleen Fitts, Dahlonega and Clara Kidd, Gainesville; sister and brother in law Inez and Paul Watkins, Jackson; brother and sister in law Ned and Carol Gooch, Suches; sister and brother in law Mary and Jesse Mayfield, Buckhead; sister and brother in law Sandra and Jerry Bailey, McDonough; sisters in law Ivy Lee Gooch, Dahlonega and Barbara Gooch, Suches; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Banister Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Pierce Ashmore, the Rev. Tommy Towe, and the Rev. Scott Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the funeral home.
