Max Herman Lingerfelt, age 85, of Dahlonega, GA passed away April 15, 2016 at Chestatee Regional Hospital.

Max is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Lingerfelt; parents, John and Lou Lingerfelt; son, LJ Mayo; daughter and son-in-law; Peggy Lee Seabolt Ross and Frank Ross; sisters, Margie Jones and Mildred Lingerfelt.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and DJ Mayo, Dahlonega, GA; daughter-in-law, Susie Mayo, Winter Haven, FL; 8 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Max are scheduled for 4 PM Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 4 PM to 9 PM and again on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 10 AM until time of service.
