Mr. Michael Sherman Bland, age 70, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on November 11, 2021, following a period of declining health. He was born on November 25, 1950 in Pasadena, California to the late William Eugene Bland, Sr. and the late Wilma Alberta Newsome.

In addition to both parents, he is preceded in death by his step-son, Corey Brandt Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Brenda Sue Twitty; Daughters, Patricia Ann Russell and Carla Marie Hernandez; Son, Michael Lewis; Step-children, Wesley (Taylor) Martin, Keri (Kameron) Walker; Siblings, William Bland, Jr., Margaret E. Bland, Jeffrey A. Bland, and Rebecca L. Morgan; Grandchildren, Jessica Bland, Justin Bassett, Sierra Castrellon, Ricky Russell, Sarah M. Martin; Cousins, David Thompson, Marcia Stegner, Collin Newsome, Joyce Tyler and Linda Smart. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law, who he loved dearly, Eunice and Thomas Twitty. Numerous other friends and relatives also survive.

It was Michael's wish to be cremated. Inurnment will take place in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00pm.
