Mrs. Nancy June Lunsford Carder, age 84, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Mrs. Carder was born in Suches on January 15, 1938, to the late Thomas McKinley and Mamie Higgenbotham Lunsford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Carder and infant son Jeffery Carder. Mrs. Carder was a beloved mother to her two daughters, "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted substitute teacher in Hall County for many years. Mrs. Carder loved her fur babies, and she was endeared to all who knew her. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Number 2 "The Hill" Church in Suches.

Survivors include her daughters Shirley Chumbler (Milton), Murrayville; Sandra Burns, Gainesville; sister Tommie Gooch, Cleveland; brother Alvin Lunsford, Suches; grandchildren Steven Wiley (Joyce), Jamey Chumbler (Tina), Joe Chumbler (Erin), Dustin Burns (Ashleigh), Bridget Vaughan (Jake); numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 PM Friday, January 21, 2022 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  Dr. Brad Reynolds will officiate.  Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Number 2 "The Hill" Church.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to the service hour Friday at the funeral home.
