Neil C. Carpenter, age 79, of Little Marsh, PA went home to be with our Lord on October 22, 2016.

Neil was born on August 8, 1937 to the late Charles Cornelius and Jessie Angus Carpenter. He is preceded in death by sisters, Meriam Gabrielson, Janice Mitcheltree; and brother, Everett Carpenter.

Neil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Lee Carpenter; sisters Shirley Hutcheson of Greensboro, NC. and Patricia Brackley of Camp Verde, AZ.; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Deborah Carpenter of Cumming, GA., Kevin and Jill Carpenter of Schertz, TX.; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Claude Hoffman of Hagerstown, MD., Gwen and Scott Whelchel of Cumming, GA.; daughter Phyllis Vols of Port Byron, IL.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Neil retired from Borden's Milk Plant after 34 years of service in the maintenance department and union representative. He served as a director of the Middlebury Co-Op while operating a dairy farm with brother Everett and Marlena Ferris Carpenter and family. The farm held very special memories for everyone! He was a life time member of Shortsville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Neil was a sports fan and played softball, football and golf with a passion! His favorite teams to watch were the Chicago Cubs and Washington Redskins. He loved traveling, playing board games and cards with family and friends. He worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic in his family. His family was his most precious gift whom he loved with all his heart!

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at the Shortsville Baptist Church on Saturday, May 28 th , 2017 at 1:00 pm with a lunch to follow.
