Mr. Phillip Wayne Pumphrey, age 40, of Dahlonega, Georgia, went to be with the Lord and his mawmaw on April 13, 2023. Phillip was genuinely a good human who loved his family, baseball, football, and music. All who know him loved him and will miss forever miss his infectious laugh.

He leaves behind his wife, Sarah "Abbi" Thornton; three precious sons Conner, Jaxon, and Damon Pumphrey; mother Denise Newell; father and stepmother John and Kathy Newell; brother and sister-in-laws Anthony Newell, Justin (Sandra) Newell, and Patrick (Meagan) Newell; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Phillip to Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home to help the family offset final expenses.
