Mr. Randall Lee Barnes, age 68, of Dahlonega, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born in Hall County on December 16, 1955, to Dennis and Joyce Barnes. Randall was a proud graduate of North Hall High School and an alumnus of Brenau University. With dedication and passion, he devoted over 50 years of his life to Americold, where he excelled as an operations manager.
Randall found joy in the simple pleasures of life, indulging in hobbies that fueled his spirit. Whether it was the wind in his hair on a Harley, navigating the waters while kayaking, casting a line for fishing, or cherishing moments with his beloved grandchildren who affectionately called him "papa," Randall embraced life fully.
Awaiting him in Heaven is his father, Dennis Barnes and father-in-law J D Brown. Randall's departure leaves a void that will be keenly felt by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Barnes of Dahlonega; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Jason Harrison; and cherished grandchildren, Grant Harrison, Wyatt Harrison, Libby Harrison, and Clara Harrison all residing in Flowery Branch.
He will also be deeply missed by his mother, Joyce Barnes; brothers Steve Barnes and Rev. Terry Barnes (Trisha); sisters Patricia Smith (Ricky), Karen Hamby, Cindy Barnes; mother-in-law Syble Brown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fran and David Wasson, Randy and Jan Brown, Pat and Stevie Walden; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services to celebrate Randall's life are scheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Will Fuller and the Rev. Terry Barnes will officiate, with interment following at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Les Fuller. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 PM until the service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
