Robert Alan Boatfield, age 53, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on January 9, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1972, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Jerry Boatfield and Shirley Patterson Boatfield.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Boatfield, and his brother, Michael Boatfield.

Robert lived life with a joyful heart and an open smile. He was truly one of a kind — the kind of person who never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. His laughter, kindness, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Robert found happiness in the simple things, especially trips to Dollywood, where he felt pure joy, and listening to his favorite country and gospel music.

Above all, Robert loved his family deeply. His life was a blessing, and his memory will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Shirley Boatfield; his siblings, Sherry (Lewis) Smith and Jeff (Sherry) Boatfield; his nieces, Kim Sutton and Alisha Garrett; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Paigelyn Morris, Allen Morris, Lillian Eller, and Madalyn Garrett, all of whom brought him great joy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, with Rev. Phillip Robinson and Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
