Mr. Roger Lee Ward, age 72, of Murrayville passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Roger was born in Blue Ridge on June 12, 1950, to the late Freeman and Ruth Ward. He was a lifelong resident of Murrayville and has been known for his excellence in sheetrock work for many years. Roger loved to garden and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He faithfully has attended Philippi Baptist Church for the past twenty years.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Shirly Ward, Murrayville; daughters Lisa Rider (Clark), Dawsonville and Michelle Whitehead (Shane), Murrayville; his beloved grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Pop" Chelseay Frith (Chris) and Avery Whitehead (Amberly); great-grandchildren Robert, Charlee-Rae, and Ellaree; brothers Charles "Bob" Ward (Joanne) and Jimmy Davis (Kim); several other family members and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Nick Rice, the Rev. Les Fuller, and the Rev. Sandy Reece will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to the service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
