Ronald J. "Chicken Man" Dorminey, age 77, of Dawsonville, GA (Lumpkin County), passed away at his home on Friday, December 9, 2016.

Ronald was born in Cordele, GA May 22, 1939. He had lived in Lumpkin County for more than 40 years.

He was the owner of D & D Burgers in Dahlonega for several years.

Ronald was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He was the son of the late Alvin Loranza Dorminey and Irene Beatrice Jones Dorminey and was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Geraldine Dorminey, who passed away on November 25, 2016; several brothers and sisters (He was the last of eight children); stepson, Stanley Carney; and step-grandson, Miles Carney.

Ronald is survived by stepdaughter and son-in-law, Sue and Edward Woody, Dahlonega, GA; stepdaughter-in-law, Denise Carney; step grandchildren, Shannon and Rusty Grizzle, Stephanie and Cale Phillips, Nathan and Cindy Woody, Corissa Carney, and Rodney Carney; step-great-grandchildren, Kayla and Curtis Davis, Karlie Grizzle, Nate Grizzle, Amber Phillips, C J Carney, Caden Woody, Daniel Carney, and Alyssa Carney; one step great-great-grandchild, Emorie Davis.

Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Dorminey are scheduled for 11 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, GA at 4 PM on Tuesday December 13, 2016.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday December 12, 2016 from 12 Noon until 9 pm and again on Tuesday morning until service time.
