Bafile
June 8, 1933 – May 2, 2020
Mr. Ronald Hugo "Ronnie" Bafile, age 86, of Dahlonega passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Born June 8, 1933 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to parents Hugo and Nina Spigarelli Bafile, Ronnie lived most of his life in Dahlonega. He first came here when he was stationed here as a U.S Army Ranger. He went on to serve his country in the Korean Conflict. Following the death of his wife, Daisy Lee Cantrell, in 1974 Ronnie had the difficult task of keeping his boys together and was proud he was able to do so. He retired from North Georgia College (UNG) after 20 years of service and most recently attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding the forest service roads in the mountains.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by sisters Gloria Bafile, Evelyn Charzn, Janette Burns, Corine Munn and Sophia Bafile; and by a brother Bobby Bafile. He was also preceded by special friend, Jeannette Anderson. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Stan and Sadie Bafile, Michael and Freida Bafile, and Greg and Kim Bafile, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren Ron Bafile, Ridge and Heather Bafile, Luke Bafile, Suzanne and Jamie Hitt, Evan and Mariah Bafile, Kassie Bafile, Taylor and Josh Budai, all of Dahlonega, and Casi and Stacy Bailey of Cumming. Surviving great-grandchildren are Kasen Budai and Lindsey and Kelvin Bafile. He is also survived by his stepmother, Giacoma Bafile, and his sister and brother-in-law, Matilda (Mike) Rossatto, both of Norway, Michigan.
Ronnie's wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
