Ms. Sara Emma Banuelos, age 8, of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Sara, a precious baby girl, was born to Pedro Banuelos and Marisol Pena on June 23, 2013, in Hall County. She was a second-grade student at Blackburn Elementary School. Sara loved her teachers and friends at school. She loved to read and play with her toys and Barbies. Sara especially loved arts and crafts. She was a fighter. Sara fought a battle with heart disease from her birth courageously. But, it never stopped her smile or the sunshine she brought to everyone who met her.

Along with her parents, Sara is survived by her siblings Pedro Banuelos, Juventino Banuelos, Perla Banuelos, Leonardo Banuelos, Nery Banuelos, and Emilio Banuelos; maternal grandparents Francisco Pena and Maria Acosta; paternal grandparents Armando Banuelos and Pilar Herrera; several other family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
