Sherry Lee Bennett, 60, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026. She was born on January 6, 1966, in Lumpkin County, Georgia, to the late Robert Anderson and Robbie Brown.

Affectionately known as "Nanny," Sherry will forever be remembered by her beloved grandbabies, who will carry her love in their hearts for a lifetime. She adored them deeply and loved them with all she had. Sherry also had a gift for nurturing beauty, her flower beds flourished under her care, and she found joy in the warmth of the sun, especially during trips to the beach.

She was preceded in death by the father of her cherished children, Tony Harkins.

Sherry is survived by her daughters, Melissa Evans (Joey) of Gainesville, Georgia, and Brooke Gillespie (Matthew) of Dahlonega, Georgia; her significant other, Tracy Franklin of Cleveland, Georgia; her sister, Rhonda Lingerfelt; her brother, Lester Brown; her treasured grandchildren, Blayton Evans, Zoey Evans, Quinn Gillespie, and Chandlee Gillespie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday 2pm at Anderson Underwood Chapel. Family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour. The reverend, Dalton Delozier, will officiate.
