Mrs. Shirley Lee Arthurs, age 87, of Cleveland, Georgia, formerly of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was born on February 6, 1935, in Benton County, Arkansas, to the late Andy and Frieda Muffett Callis.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Arthurs; son William Hobbs; brother Bill Callis; sister Nancy Blakeman-Rhodes; and granddaughters, Alexis Enyart and River Enyart.
God gave Shirley a green thumb. You would often find her in her yard at home planting flowers or working in her shrubs. She loved to crochet and filled her most significant role as "Grandma" to her beloved family. Shirley worked for several years in housekeeping at St. Joseph's Hospital (Now Northeast Georgia Lumpkin County). She would later give many years of work to Belk in Gainesville, where she would retire. Shirley was deeply loved and will be missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Walter (Brenda) Enyart, Alex Enyart, Lona Therriault, Montre Soto (Jimmy Flores), Andrea (Doug) Campbell; step-son Michael (Robyn) Arthurs, sister-in-law, Betty Callis; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 2:30 PM in the cemetery of Dahlonega Memorial Park, with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
