Sonya Renee English, age 41, of Dahlonega, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017.

Sonya was born in Brunswick, GA on December 7, 1975. Two things made her happy: a kayak and a fishing pole.  Sonya loved anything to do outdoors and was always looking for an adventure.  She was a shining light in a dark world and she had time to listen and be a friend to anyone.  Sonya was the founder and owner of Headlines Hair Salon and for more than 18 years she provided service to her clients and friends that she deeply loved.   Sonya found peace and contentment sitting on her porch drinking coffee especially on rainy days.  Some of her happiest moments were watching her daughter play softball.  Sonya was a member of Free Chapel.

Survivors include her husband Aaron English, Dahlonega; daughter Lauren English, Dahlonega; father Ray Walden, Dahlonega; mother Debbie West, Brunswick; brother and sister in law Brian and Samesa Walden, Brunswick; grandmother Willene Walden, Brunswick; uncles and aunts Richard and Jenny Walden, Brunswick; Lawanda and Danny Broadhurst, Jesup.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 4 PM Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Banister Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Harold Edenfield and Mr. Danny Broadhurst will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
