Obituary

Mr. Stanley Ray Tolbert, age 68, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was born on September 23, 1954 in Dahlonega to the late Clinton "Clutch" Tolbert and the late Grace Loggins Tolbert.

Stanley was a man with many qualities that built the legacy he leaves behind. He was an avid hunter, an amazing father, and a jokester to say the least. There wasn't much more you could ask out of a man. To those who knew him best, a "hero" is an understatement. The second someone was hurt, lost, in need of help, or in danger, Stanley would jump right into action with no self regard. If you knew Stanley as a friend, you were a lucky soul because you did indeed have a true friend.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Tolbert.

He is survived by his three daughters, Tammy Lynn Shelton (Lanny Limburg), Crystal Diane Head, and Kimberly Tolbert Day, all of Dahlonega; step daughter Dottie Summerour; siblings Mae Ruth Grant, Christy (Carl) Gilreath, Charles (Pat) Tolbert, Clinton (Carrie) Tolbert and Jimmy (Theada) Tolbert; grandchildren Ansley Parham, Chase (Erika) Samples, Zachary (Katlyn) Woody, Kirsten Head, Mathew Woody and Blake Ridings; great grandchildren Brooklyn Parham, Ashton Parham, Clara Woody and Carter Woody; special nephews Denny Tolbert and Scott Brown. Numerous friends and other relatives also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with Scott Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses.
