Stephen Michael Scheuer, age 79, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026.

Born on November 11, 1946, in Elkhart, Indiana, Stephen was the son of the late Robert M. Scheuer and the late Florence Gordon Scheuer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sheila Scheuer, and his brother, Larry Scheuer.

Stephen was a proud veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country with honor. Following his military service, he devoted himself to his family and enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures. He found great satisfaction working in his yard, tending to his landscaping, and spending countless hours woodworking, creating projects with his hands that reflected his patience and craftsmanship.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Joan Scheuer; his son, Michael Glenn Scheuer and his wife, April, of Clearwater, Florida; his grandchildren, Brittany Glover and her husband, Allen, of Johnson City, Tennessee, Jessica Martin of Clearwater, Florida, and Dana Manning of Clearwater, Florida; 5 Great Grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Kay Scheuer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

In keeping with Stephen's wishes, he will be cremated. No public services will be held at this time. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the family's plot in Kentucky.
