Mrs. Susie M. Dover, age 74, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.
Susie was born in Lumpkin County on January 7, 1947 to the late Ramey and Lois Thomason Moose. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dover, seven brothers and one sister. Susie was a proud graduate of Lumpkin County High School and with her hard work and dedication she was able to graduate one year earlier than expected. Susie was a caregiver and found joy in gardening. The way she best expressed herself was in the songs that she wrote with her own hand and from her heart. Susie was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Paula and Jonathan Sullens, Dahlonega, Vickie and Johnny Chattin, Dahlonega, Sandy and Robbie McCullough, Florida, and Lesa and Paul Van Oudheusden, Dahlonega; sister and brother-in-law Nell and Ray Bearden, Dahlonega; grandchildren Caroline Chattin, Justin Van Oudheusden, Megan Sullens, Carlee Chattin, Hunter Van Oudheusden, Ava Chattin, Lucas Chattin, and P.J. Van Oudheusden; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A private graveside service will be held and Susie will be buried next to her beloved husband Richard in the Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be The Rev. Lyman Caldwell.
