Terrell
Holtzclaw
October 19, 1931 – December 12, 2025
Edwin Terrell Holtzclaw, 94, passed away peacefully at his home on December 12, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished so dearly. Born on October 19, 1931, to Annie Davis and Gardie Holtzclaw, Terrell lived a long life marked by hard work, devotion, and a quiet wisdom that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Terrell was preceded in death by his beloved siblings: sisters Birdie and Bertha Holtzclaw, Lora Upchurch, Grace Greenway, Helen Burt, and Leila Gooch, and brothers Walter and Dean Holtzclaw.
A master farmer, Terrell was known far and wide for growing the finest green beans and tomatoes around. His garden—tended faithfully with his wife—was his pride and joy, a living testament to his patience, skill, and deep love of the land. He retired from Pine Tree after many dedicated years of work, but his heart always belonged to the soil he cultivated so well.
Terrell was married to his devoted wife, Nell Holtzclaw, for 70 beautiful years. Together, they built a life anchored in love, faith, and family. A quiet and intelligent man, Terrell had stories that could hold a room spellbound. When he spoke, you listened—because you knew it would be worth hearing. His gentle strength and thoughtful words guided his family for generations.
Terrell was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. His life, rooted in simplicity and sincerity, will continue to inspire those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In addition to his loving wife, Nell, he is survived by his two children, Tim (Shari) Holtzclaw and Denise (Skipper) Bryant, whom he loved beyond measure. He also leaves behind three granddaughters, Emily (Kirk) Smith, Jessy Holtzclaw, and Sara (Casey) Mabe, and is preceded in death by his grandson Jeremy Wehunt. His legacy continues through his seven great-grandchildren: Jagger Tallant, Jetson Feidler, Eyla Mabe, Jonah Mabe, Virginia Mabe, Levi Smith, and Eliza Smith.
To his family, Terrell was a great dad, a devoted husband, and a wonderful papa. He led with a kind and gentle heart, offering steadfast love and an unwavering example of what it means to live a good, faithful life.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Anderson–Underwood Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Anderson - Underwood Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Rodgers officiating.
