Thomas "Tom"
Jones
December 7, 1957 – March 11, 2026
Thomas "Tom" Jones, age 68, entered into the presence of the Lord on March 11, 2026. He was born on December 7, 1957, to Lawrence and Lois Jones and lived in Roswell, GA most of his life.
He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and rarely missed watching a football game either in person or on TV. Many of his bulldog friends called him TJ and they spent a lot of time tailgating and traveling to games. Tom coached little league ball and softball. He worked in the Atlanta area as facility manager for several companies.
In August 2005 he met the love of his life, Ann, and after they married in 2006, he moved to Alto, GA, where he worked for Jaemor Farms for several years. His last job was Wal Mart Cornelia before his health forced him to become unable to work. He and Ann were members of Enon Baptist Church and loved their church family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Jerry Pope, and sister and brother-in-law, Martha and R.B. Raines.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ann Cragg Jones. Stepson and wife, Will and Rachel Cox and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Hannas. One grandson, his best buddy, Luke Hannas. Sister, Evelyn Pope of Jasper, GA. Sister-in-Law and husband, Carolyn and Larry Palmer of Demorest, GA and Evelyn and Raymond Payne of Cornelia, GA and brother-in-law and wife, Paul and Loretta Cragg of Lula, GA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Enon Baptist Church in Alto, Georgia. The Rev. Chad Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that live plants be sent, so that Ann can continue to enjoy them for years to come. If desired, donations may be made to Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home to help the family offset final expenses.
