Timothy "Tim"
Cummings
February 15, 1967 – May 27, 2026
Timothy "Tim" Eugene Cummings, age 59, passed away peacefully and rejoined His Savior at home, May 27, 2026 of natural causes. Tim was born on February 15, 1967 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, Illinois, to William "Bill" Cummings and Brenda (Cummings) Atchison. Tim grew up in Calhoun County, IL, inheriting his family's love for nature and wildlife, making many trips to his home state for hunting, mostly waterfowl and deer. Tim created a life for himself in Dahlonega, GA in the early nineties, establishing himself as a talented and trusted carpenter and handyman. He could always point out a house he worked on all throughout Dahlonega and the surrounding area.
Tim is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda (Cummings) Atchison of Jerseyville, IL, father, William "Bill" Cummings of Jerseyville, IL, brothers, Robert Cummings and Jasper Cummings both of Jerseyville, IL, grandparents, aunts and uncles, many cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Tim is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cummings of Dahlonega, GA, daughters Hannah Turner of Covington, GA and Ashley Cummings of Dahlonega,GA, grandson Turner Johnson of Covington, GA, sister Renee Cummings of Port Austin, MI, nephews Jamie Turner of Fort Payne, AL and Wesley Wells of Boston, MA, and so many more friends, family, and loved ones. Tim never knew a stranger. To know him was to love him and befriend him.
Tim loved and respected nature, and connected to God mostly by enjoying His creation. He was an avid sportsman and loved nothing more than being in his deer stand in the woods, or in his blind at the river. He loved taking his grandson hunting and fishing, and enjoyed passing on that legacy to the next generation. He loved animals, especially dogs, and had many beloved pets throughout his lifetime.
A memorial will be held at a date and location yet to be determined, and all who loved Tim will be more than welcome to attend. As of now, the family simply asks for your deepest thoughts and prayers.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
