Vaughn Ricketts, age 76, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a brief illness. Vaughn was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. Vaughn was a great mechanic, both small engines and automobiles. He was very knowledgeable about classic cars. Vaughn was the son of the late Jim and Florene Parks Ricketts. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Myrtle Ricketts; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Johnny Brady; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hartwell and Maxcine Ricketts, Lamar and Bernice Ricketts, Mark and Brenda Ricketts, all of Dahlonega, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Will Sanders, Ecuador; grandson, Stacey Croy, Gainesville, GA; special friends, Phil and Brenda Norrell, Dahlonega, GA. Numerous other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Vaughn are scheduled for 3 PM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA. Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Tony Allison will officiate. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 5 PM until 9 PM and again on Saturday from 10 AM until 3 PM.
