Virginia Sisk-Welch, age 91, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Dahlonega, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was born on June 23, 1932, in West Union, South Carolina, to the late Arthus Addis and the late Neomi Lusk.

Before moving to Florida, Virginia was a long-time resident of Lumpkin County. Upon graduation from Brenau University, she spent her entire career as a Registered Nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Welch, and her daughter Vivian Sisk.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Cindi) Sisk of Gainesville, Georgia, Nadine (Hal) Cowan of Griffin, Georgia, and Pete (Paula) Sisk of Fort Myers, Florida; sister Nelda (Bill) Medlin of West Union, South Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the cemetery of Philippi Baptist Church. The Reverend Nick Rice will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the nursing program at Brenau University, 500 Washington St. SE, Box 16, Gainesville GA 30501.
