Mr. Walter James Marshall, age 84, of Dahlonega, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Mr. Marshall was born in Lumpkin County on October 14, 1933 to the late Buddy and Lillian Grizzle Marshall. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Carlton Marshall. Mr. Marshall proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Burlington Industries.

Survivors include his wife, of 61 years, Shelby Peck Marshall, Dahlonega; daughter and son in law Paige and Jeff Wehunt, Dahlonega; son and fiancé Kevin Marshall and Jennifer Waters, Dahlonega; son Tim Marshall, South Carolina; grandchildren Kayla and Landon Eurek, Kendall Wehunt and Sydney Landry, Wil Marshall, Charlie Waters, and Seth Waters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Friday, December 29, 2017 at Banister Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tim Pruitt will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
